Goods received note (GRN)

Also called: GRN, Goods receipt note

A goods received note is the record a business makes when a delivery arrives, showing what was actually received, in what quantity and condition, against the purchase order.

It's the middle document in a three-way match — purchase order, GRN, supplier invoice — so you only pay for what you ordered and actually received.

A GRN is different from the supplier's delivery note, which only says what was sent.
