How it works
- Reorder point = (average daily sales × average lead time in days) + safety stock.
- Days-of-cover method: safety stock = average daily sales × the number of extra days of stock you want as a buffer.
- Max–average method: safety stock = (maximum daily sales × maximum lead time) − (average daily sales × average lead time). It sizes the buffer from your worst recent week, not a guess.
