HSN code

Also called: Harmonized System of Nomenclature

An HSN code is the internationally standardised number that classifies goods, used on Indian GST invoices to identify each item and its tax rate.

Businesses with turnover up to ₹5 crore must show at least 4 digits on B2B invoices; above ₹5 crore, at least 6 digits on all tax invoices. Services use SAC codes instead.
