Input tax credit

Also called: ITC, GST credit, Input VAT

Input tax credit is the GST or VAT a registered business paid on its purchases, which it can deduct from the tax it collects on its sales.

To claim it, the buyer generally needs a valid tax invoice (or other prescribed document) from the supplier — not a pro forma, quotation or delivery note.
